Due to the recent series of extreme and severe weather conditions, Hong Kong has been suffering from instances of flooding, fallen trees, road collapses, and landslides. Several sections of roads, including country parks and trails, have been closed due to these incidents. In order to ensure the event can be held in a safe environment, the organizer has been in close contact with relevant government departments to understand the impact on various sections of race routes and the progress of repairs.
According to the latest information, the currently affected race routes include: Hok Tau Reservoir, Pat Sin Leng, and some sections of Wilson Trail sections 7 & 6. The closed sections and surrounding paths are not suitable for racing and will be repaired. It is also difficult to determine the date of restoration. In view of the approaching date of the race, we decided to change the original 100km route and related arrangements after balancing the safety of participants and staff, the feasibility of preparation arrangements, and the experience of the racers. The 10km, half marathon and 50km races are currently unaffected.
